2017-2018 GCOO Workshops

The Green Country Oklahoma Orff Chapter is a group of individuals who come together with like minds, beliefs and passions to further their understanding and knowledge of the Orff Schulwerk.  Our desire is to learn from each other, to share with each other, and to explore our common focus to sing, speak, play and move within the Orff process, in order to improve our abilities as teachers of music.

Matt McCoy

“FALL’ing into the Elemental: Celebrating Autumn with the Schulwerk”

Matt McCoy is an Orff Schulwerk specialist who teaches general music and choir at the Emerson School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is a regular presenter at the National Conference of AOSA and local chapter workshops.  His collection of folk arrangements are published by Schott Music Corporation.

Chapter Play Date and

Membership Luncheon

Members gather for fellowship and music adventures with ukuleles and recorders. 

Soup luncheon provided by GCOO Board members.



Joy Nelson is a national presenter and active in OAKE and has presented at the National Conferences of OAKE and AOSA.


Betty is past president of the Central Oklahoma Orff Chapter and founding past president of Green Country Oklahoma Orff Chapter.  She served as the founding chairman of the Green Country Oklahoma Orff Festival.
